Wright University’s Acknowledgement of Land Use

Last Update: October 7, 2021

Wright University's mission is to create access to education across demographics within the framework of a historically aware, anti-xenophobic, curriculum for its students. WU places emphasis on providing educational opportunities for various marginalized communities including, Indigenous populations. This institution believes in reparations for injustices suffered due to, the forced removal from their ancestral lands and the ongoing struggle against settler colonialism.

WrightU is committed to honoring Indigenous communities by working towards decolonization and reconciliation. With gratitude, WrightU acknowledges our university utilizes the unceded ancestral land and resources of the Coast Salish People, including the Suquamish, Snohomish, and Stillaguamish Tribes.

As an educational institution committed to equity, WU acknowledges that these communities are still present and entitled to the reserved rights retained in the Point Elliot Treaty. WU will actively work in solidarity to strengthen Indigenous self-determination and ancestral practices.
