History

Unified for Change

Wright University was founded in 2020 by Caitlin Carter, Ph.D. and Maren Rosenbach, MSL amid the COVID-19 pandemic; the continued fight for civil rights; the Black Lives Matter protests following the murders of Brianna Taylor, George Floyd, and so many others; and the enduring strain to the higher education system. Caitlin and Maren began their mission to provide abundant opportunity to students and staff historically excluded or tokenized by the academy. With a focus to create space in higher learning and employment for the black community, people of color, people with disabilities, women, first-generation college students, native populations, and the LGBTQIA+ community, Wright University was formed.
